About the Role
MAP is seeking a Protection Monitoring Officer to support the monitoring of protection issues within communities where MAP operates. The Officer will be responsible for gathering accurate and timely data on protection risks through interviews, focus group discussions, and field observations, while following MAP’s protocols and ethical standards. They will identify and report urgent protection concerns, refer vulnerable individuals to appropriate services, and help map available service providers in the area. The Officer will work closely with MAP programme teams to ensure protection principles are integrated into all activities and will assist in raising awareness and supporting protection-related trainings when needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Social Sciences or a related field and have several years of relevant experience in the protection sector, preferably in humanitarian settings. They will demonstrate strong knowledge of international protection standards and have hands-on experience conducting community-based protection work, including key informant interviews and focus group discussions. Familiarity with standard protection monitoring tools, data collection, and reporting is essential. The candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both Arabic and English. A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and MAP’s values is required.
