Work context
CESVI has been working in Palestine since 1994, and it has developed over the years an expertise in the area of water, Solid Waste Management, sanitation and environment through the implementation of projects in the field, establishing partnerships with relevant actors in the sector and thanks to active participation in the WASH cluster.
CESVI is currently implementing projects in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.
CESVI is looking for a dynamic and experienced candidate for the position of Project Manager, duty station in West Bank – Bethlehem area, with expertise in the environmental and waste management sector, who will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project.
Main Tasks & Duties
- Responsible for the planning and management of project activities;
- Ensures the correct use of CESVI and donor procedures;
- Responsible for drafting periodic, interim and final donor reports;
- Prepares and updates the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Plan;
- Ensures the correct monitoring of indicators and applies tools for their monitoring, with the support of the MEAL coordinator
- Prepares and updates the Procurement Plan and ensures procurement procedures in compliance with CESVI and Donor rules
- Ensures the correct management of the project budget, using the Budget Update&Forecast tool
- Defines and requests authorisation of any variation, extension or revision of the original project,
in coordination with the partner;
- Collaborates on security issues by contributing to the revision and updating of plans and manuals, where required.
- Coordination with HQ for visibility activities of the project, the organisation and the donor.
- Coordination and supervision of consortium partner, ensuring integration between components
- Selects, manages and coordinates project staff

- Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Development or any other relevant field of study.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in the development/humanitarian sector, management of international development programmes and in donor relations. Proven experience in project planning, proposal development, reporting, resource mobilisation, networking, partnership building and collaboration with NGOs. Proven experience in managing contracts and mobilising resources from major donors, in particular istitutional donors, notably AICS, USAID-OFDA, DFID, WFP, ECHO and the EU.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to liaise with staff, partners, government officials, donors and other stakeholders.
- Ability to confidently represent oneself in front of senior officials.
- Confidence and competence in the use of MS Office; knowledge of English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Understanding of the complete project cycle and its implementation is desirable
The assignment is a full-time post expected to start 1st of September. Subject to satisfactory performance, the period of employment may be extended.
