About the Role:
The Project Officer is responsible for overseeing the implementation and coordination of health programmes at Nasser Hospital, ensuring adherence to Ministry of Health (MoH) protocols and MAP's quality standards. This includes supervising staff, strengthening referral systems, leading training initiatives, and integrating protection principles into healthcare services. The role involves monitoring the humanitarian situation, supporting proposal development, and managing emergency response activities. The Project Officer also handles HR coordination, staff wellbeing, safety protocols, and ensures effective data collection for health surveillance and programme design. Additionally, they are accountable for planning, budgeting, procurement, and resource management. The position requires regular performance monitoring, reporting, and providing recommendations for program improvements. The Project Officer also plays a key role in stakeholder engagement, representing MAP in official forums, maintaining partnerships with MoH, NGOs, and hospital administrators, and enhancing the visibility and communication of MAP's programmes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong literacy, numeracy, analytical, and communication skills, underpinned by critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting. A degree in a medical-related field is preferred, with a master’s in public health considered an asset. The candidate should have proven experience in medical settings, particularly in project coordination, supervision, and team leadership. Familiarity with hospital operations, referral systems, patient flow, and emergency protocols is essential, as is experience working with multiple stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental organizations. Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools, beneficiary feedback mechanisms (BFM), and MoH clinical and IPC guidelines is required, along with a solid understanding of protection principles in clinical contexts. The role demands strong leadership, planning, and analytical capabilities, the ability to compile and analyse health data, and excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and the ability to work both independently and within a team under pressure, are also key requirements.
