Position:                              REACH Project Assistant (2)

I-Background on ACTED

ACTED is an international NGO registered in France. ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED started its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) in May 2007. ACTED is currently implementing projects covering multiple humanitarian / development sectors, funded by of a variety of international donors, which aim at protecting vulnerable households and strengthening civil society actors across the oPt. ACTED oPt offers a dynamic, rigorous and knowledge-orientated working environment.

In the occupied Palestinian territory, ACTED is both committed to humanitarian assistance and long-term development. ACTED strives to strengthen the economic capacities of communities, consolidate civil society organisations, and provide emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, rural communities in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. ACTED currently seeks two positions of Project Assistant for its humanitarian operations in Gaza.

III-Position Profile

  • Support remote and in-person data collection activities in coordination with field and project supervisors, ensuring adherence to established procedures
  • Maintain strong relationships with community leaders, Mukhtars, and stakeholders to facilitate access and data collection.
  • Oversee and support enumerators/daily workers, providing guidance and training to ensure data quality and compliance with protocols
  • Assist in building and maintaining a network of community focal points and sector stakeholders to keep humanitarian context and response information current.
  • Monitor local context, including displacement dynamics and service access, and report updates using relevant tools.
  • Support logistical and operational coordination for field assessments.
  • Ensure accurate recording, documentation, and reporting of project data in line with organizational standards.
  • Adhere to the organization’s code of conduct and internal policies at all times.
  • Track and document lessons learned and best practices during implementation.
  • Contribute to field visit reports, weekly updates, and work plan revisions as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on data collection progress and challenges to the Field Officer and project team.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Field Officer to ensure effective field operations.

Job Requirements

IV-Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Social Sciences, Geography, Public Health, Business Administration, or any other relevant field.
  • Previous 2-3 field experience in humanitarian or development work, preferably in data collection or field team coordination.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with local community.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise field teams (enumerators/daily workers), ensuring data quality and adherence to protocols.
  • Good understanding of the local context, including population dynamics, service availability, and community needs.
  • Experience in using data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational Skills to support field movements and smooth implementation of field activities.
  • Ability to prepare reports, document challenges, and record lessons learned in a structured and professional manner.
  • High commitment to humanitarian principles and adherence to the organization’s Code of Conduct and PSEA standards.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure in dynamic and rapidly changing environments, particularly in emergency settings in Gaza.
  • Good computer literacy, including proficiency in using smartphones, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and other relevant digital tools.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and Arabic, with the ability to communicate effectively with project teams and produce high-quality documentation in both languages.
