I-Background on ACTED

ACTED is an international NGO registered in France. ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED started its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) in May 2007. ACTED is currently implementing projects covering multiple humanitarian / development sectors, funded by of a variety of international donors, which aim at protecting vulnerable households and strengthening civil society actors across the oPt. In the occupied Palestinian territory, ACTED is both committed to humanitarian assistance and long-term development. ACTED strives to strengthen the economic capacities of communities, consolidate civil society organisations, and provide emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, rural communities in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. ACTED currently seeks a position of Two Project Assistants for its humanitarian operations in Gaza.

III-Position Profile

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Assist in developing and implementing monthly and weekly project plans in coordination with the Project Supervisor.
    • Ensure timely follow-up and tracking of project activities.
    • Monitor project progress against planned outputs, indicators, and timelines.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and archiving.
    • Prepare and submit timely project reports, including monthly reports, project management follow-up (PMF), field visit reports, and weekly plans.
    • Ensure accurate tracking and recording of information necessary for reporting.
  • Field Operations:
    • Conduct regular field visits to project communities and stakeholders.
    • Assist in reviewing and updating project work plans, including those of implementing partners.
    • Respond to and handle complaints as directed by the AME officer and in coordination with the Project Supervisor.
  • Procurement and Compliance:
    • Contribute to the development of project procurement plans.
    • Ensure adherence to FLATS procedures for efficient project records and documentation.
    • Respect ACTED's code of conduct and policies.
  • Quality Assurance and Learning:
    • Support in monitoring project implementation to ensure that indicators are being met in coordination with the AME Unit.
    • Document lessons learned and best practices.Coordinate with other team members and stakeholders as needed.

Job Requirements

IV-Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, development studies or any other relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience with humanatarian projects.
  • Previous work experience with NGOs / INGOs is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
  • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines.
  • Professional attitude, good social skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic language skills; ability to write clearly and concisely about complex issues
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint…).
