Our mission

War Child is an independent and impartial international non-governmental child rights organization investing in a peaceful future for children and young people affected by armed conflict. Focusing on education, child protection, mental health, and psychosocial support, we strive to empower children and young people while enabling adults to bring about positive and lasting change in the lives of conflict-affected children and young people. War Child has been working in the oPt since 2006 and has offices in Jerusalem, Hebron, Nablus, and Gaza.

War Child is seeking a motivated Project Coordinator who can fulfill the following Job description and join the organization.

Job Summary/ Scope of Work:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the ECHO-funded project in the West Bank and Gaza. This includes ensuring timely and quality implementation, coordination among consortium partners, risk management, and compliance with donor requirements. The Project Coordinator ensures effective collaboration with project staff, stakeholders, and partners and contributes to the strategic development of War Child’s programming in oPt.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of project activities in the West Bank and Gaza according to work plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Lead coordination between local and international consortium partners on a day-to-day basis.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and take proactive measures to address them.
  • Ensure project visibility with national and international audiences.
  • Represent the project in coordination and reflection meetings with partners and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the MEAL team for effective monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of lessons learned.
  • Collect and consolidate narrative reports from the project team and partners.
  • Supervise project officers and ensure the timely implementation of activities and effective budget management.
  • Provide feedback to the Project Manager and partners to guide programmatic adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to War Child’s values, code of conduct, and donor guidelines.
  • Participate in risk assessments and contribute to risk mitigation planning throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support technical assistance to staff and partners in protection, MHPSS, education, and emergency response.

متطلبات الوظيفة

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant academic degree in education, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, preferably in consortium settings.
  • Proven experience with EU/ECHO-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple partners and stakeholders, including government bodies and donors.
  • Preferably experienced in projects related to child protection and psychosocial support.
  • Technical experience in PSS and capacity building is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Palestinian context and previous experience in community-based programming preferred.
  • Strong experience in reporting, planning, and financial management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation abilities.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and flexibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).

Mandatory Requirement
This is a national position, the candidate should be based in Hebron.
