War Child is seeking a motivated Project Officer who can fulfill the following Job description to join the organization.

Job Summary/ Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Senior Program Coordinator in overseeing the daily operations and effective implementation of the project, ensuring alignment with the approved project design, budget framework, donor requirements, and compliance with War Child’s policies, procedures, and technical quality standards. The role will play a vital part in ensuring that the project meets its objectives efficiently and with high quality.
The project aims to support the psychosocial well-being, protection, and resilience of vulnerable children, caregivers, and communities in the Gaza Strip by delivering integrated psychosocial support (PSS) and humanitarian assistance. Through a comprehensive, community-based approach, the project seeks to ensure that crisis-affected children and their caregivers have increased access to quality PSS services in safe and protective environments that uphold child protection principles, fostering their psychological resilience and enhancing their overall well-being.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Project management and implementation:

• Support the coordination and tracking of project activities, including Led-Initiatives (CLI) rehabilitation, training sessions, and community-based PSS interventions.
• Assist in organizing and facilitating training for CLI staff and volunteers on PSS and Team-Up methodology.
• Follow up on the delivery of unstructured PSS activities and awareness workshops at the CLIs.
• Coordinate with the technical team to ensure timely and effective referrals for children and caregivers needing additional support.
• Track referred cases and follow up on the referral pathway in coordination with the technical team.
• Liaise with community leaders and CLI facilitators to ensure effective case handling and service delivery.
• Support Psychological First Aid (PFA) and individual/group counseling sessions by coordinating with beneficiaries and field staff.
• Collect and compile data from the field to feed into different tools and reports.
• Secure community and project stakeholder participation and ensure accountability to project participants in the development of the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, and support the implementation of the feedback and complaint response mechanism (FCRM).
• Contribute to the preparation of progress reports and field visit summaries.
• Support in organizing logistics for trainings, sessions, distributions, and meetings.
• Ensuring that War Child safeguarding measurements are taken into consideration in all project activities implemented by the partners and report any breaches to the code of conduct or the child safeguarding policy to the line manager/child safeguarding focal point.

2. Networking/coordination/representation/strategic influencing:

• Actively support coordination and communication between internal teams and external stakeholders, including implementing partners, community leaders, and local authorities.
• Assist in organizing and participating in coordination meetings, workshops, and field visits, ensuring timely follow-up on action points.
• Represent the project in community-level forums when delegated, fostering trust and strong relationships with key actors.
• Maintain a collaborative and respectful presence in the field, contributing to advocacy and influencing efforts.
• Gather and share relevant field data and community feedback to inform programmatic decision-making.
• Ensure alignment of project activities with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Knowledge and experience:

• Relevant academic degree in Business, Project Management, Education, Social Sciences, or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably within an NGO or INGO.
• Experience managing projects focused on protection, psychosocial support, or community-based programming.
• Proven ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies and donors.
• Experience in data collection, integration, and reporting.
• Experience in maintaining the online database and reporting.
• Experience with community-based programming is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent English written and spoken required.
