The Opportunity – Finance Officer - CO
Post location: Country Office located in Ramallah.
Contract Duration: Until April 30th, 2026
ROLE PURPOSE:
The post holder will contribute to the regular processing of the accounting of the Country Office and ensure all the appropriate posting and reconciliation done in time for the month end closure and review by the Finance Leadership. Will ensure the compliance to Save the Children procedure and accounting policy.
The post holder is also responsible to oversee all aspects of administrative and general support services for the Country Office
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Role Dimensions: oPt CO is a high complexity country, multi-member interest, with an annual budget of around $40+m, and 100+ staff. Currently the program is experiencing a growth in funding and complexity due to the war in Gaza.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Payment, posting and archiving
- Review and record payments for the Country Office.
- Write checks and prepare bank transfer letters.
- Ensure all required supporting documents are properly prepared, stamped, signed and archived.
- Review and record staff payments for travel and expenses.
- Distribute checks to suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
- Enter journal vouchers into the Agresso system.
- Record payment vouchers and cash received in the bank tracking sheet.
- Handle transfer letters to banks and obtain monthly bank statements.
- Assist in managing cash flow and prepare weekly remittance reports on ProSave.
Month end Processing:
- Prepare and record internal cash transfers.
- Confirm cash received from the SCI center via email.
- Enter salary payments and adjustments into Agresso.
- Upload monthly reports and documents for the regional office.
- Assist in end-month bank reconciliation.
Year End and Audit:
- Assist with the BS review, and ensure all transaction are properly cleared in the system
- Verify validity and supporting documentation for open item at year end
- Coordinate the Finance Assistant on the review finance files for audit readiness.
Staff Development and Training
- Provide technical assistance, training, orientation, and support new staff on finance procedure for payment and claims
- Do orientation sessions and training finance and non-finance staff on Agresso and the coding systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to contribute to the growing team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary.
- Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to it’s objectives.
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
