The Opportunity – Warehouse & Asset Officer
Post location: Gaza Field Office
Contract Duration and Level of Effort: until 31st December 2025, with a possibility of extension based on available funds.
ROLE PURPOSE:
This role will be responsible for the management of warehouses (operated by SCI and / or collaborating external parties), inventory & Assets in Gaza. This person will be responsible for coordination of all international shipments arriving from Egypt, West Bank and Jordan corridor, including coordination with SCI program staff and partners for receiving and issuing of cargo. The person will also be responsible for managing all SCI Assets and ensuring their proper tracking and reporting using the SCI e-Asset Management Software.
The post-holder will be responsible for enforcement and compliance with SCI warehousing and asset management policies and procedures and donor requirements and if applicable supervising and capacity building of newly recruited SC warehouse staff.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage, loss, or theft.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Inventory Control:
- Conduct regular stock checks, inventory counts, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Monitor stock levels and anticipate inventory needs to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Implement inventory management systems and procedures to optimize stock control and rotation.
- Ensure full implementation and compliant use of the SCI Total Inventory Management System (TIM) to record all stock transactions.
Receipt and Dispatch:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing lists, and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling of goods for distribution.
- Coordinate with logistics staff and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, disbursements, and stock movements.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse activities, stock levels, and inventory status.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for customs clearance, import/export permits, and other regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and suitability of stored goods.
- Conduct periodic inspections of warehouse facilities, equipment, and inventory to identify and address any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with program teams to ensure that goods meet quality standards and specifications.
Equipment and Maintenance:
- Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and storage racks.
- Arrange for repairs and servicing as needed to keep equipment in good working condition.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs in the warehouse.
Asset Management:
- Maintaining up-to-date data and control of all assets including tracking donor, value, and location, and recording all asset movements and disposals in line with SCI asset management policy and procedures and donor requirements.
- Oversee the issuance and return of assets to/from staff.
- Ensure assets are maintained in good condition and ensure timely submission of regular asset management reports.
- Coordinate and ensure regular asset spot checks and annual physical asset verifications are completed on schedule as required.
- Ensure SCI asset management tools and documentation are fully implemented and maintained as required.
Team Coordination and Training:
- Supervise warehouse staff and provide guidance on daily tasks and priorities.
- Conduct training sessions for warehouse and programe staff on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the warehouse team and cross-functionally with other teams.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
ESSENTIAL:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management related field.
- Professional certification or training in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations will be added advantage e.g. CILT, CIPS.
- 3 years previous experience in warehouse management, logistics, or related field, preferably in the humanitarian sector or with INGOs.
- Knowledge and experience of INGO warehouse operations, inventory management principles, asset management, and logistics procedures.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping, inventory control and data management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic work environment.
- Commitment to Save the Children's mission and values, with a passion for supporting vulnerable children and families in Gaza.
- Experience working in an insecure field-based environment.
