OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Under the responsibility of the Project Supervisor, the Physiotherapist will implement appropriate rehabilitation care to people with injuries and people with disabilities affected by the crisis.
He/she contributes to the implementation of the Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation (MDR) activities in Emergency Response to the most vulnerable in need of rehabilitation services; in an outreach modality
His/her job will consist of implementing the full rehabilitation process (from initial assessment to discharge) to answer specific needs by providing technical expertise and by ensuring that the quality of services and impact of the project concerned are optimized.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support
· Provide comprehensive rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy assessments and treatments, for patients with disabilities and injured. Care will be provided for a range of conditions, focusing on enhancing mobility and independence.
· Coordinate with the project team in setting up the intervention/therapy plan to ensure a multidisciplinary approach in service planning and delivery.
· Identify specific needs of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers, and write clear and correct prescriptions ensuring they are properly customized to meet each patient's needs.
· Conduct training for assistive device beneficiaries on how to use it properly.
· Collaborate with occupational therapists to ensure a holistic approach to patient care and rehabilitation.
· Meets the project participants' goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; and determining physiotherapy treatment plans.
· Educate patients and their families on the effective use and maintenance of assistive devices, promoting their integration into daily routines and prevent the expected complications.
· Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation plans for each patient in coordination with the project team.
· Evaluate results of physiotherapy by observing, noting, and evaluating project participants' progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Protects project participants and employees by adhering to infection
· Control policies and protocols.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
· Conduct training to families/caregivers of beneficiaries on home basic follow-up exercises and ensure PT exercises are implemented after discharge.
· Properly document and archive data for each patient.
· Respect and implement the HI quality criteria system while working with project participants.
· Report to the project manager using the monitoring tools and report forms on a daily weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Follow up IPC measures to reduce infection as much as possible within the available work location.
· Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and its operations.
2. Communication, Coordination, and reporting
· Participate to the creation a real coordination mechanism with rehab teams for beneficiary pathway.
· Participate in the production and dissemination of lessons learning exercises and/or good practice documents with the support of Rehabilitation teams.
· Provide input in all rehabilitation related mission reporting needs to line manager.
· Work closely with other service providers, Hospital, PRC, NGOs to identify the need of rehab. services.
· Contribute to identify, gather and contact other NGO or health facilities for further including in the services map.
· Report pertinent and correct information in files, respecting filling procedure and keeping files properly. - Prepare and submit to monthly report to line manager.
· Provide technical feed-back of donor report upon request from line manager.
· Contributes to the reputation of the organization's expertise in rehabilitation (national and international conferences).
· Provide daily and weekly activities and provide daily activity report (including data) to line manager.
3. Project level strategy development plan for P&O and implementation
· Propose relevant needed adaptation to the composition of the rehab. team and contribute to its implementation upon request.
· Support the monitoring and updating of Rehabilitation operational frameworks as needed.
· Participate in strategic planning exercises the mission as requested. 4. Hygiene and security
· Follow basic hygiene rules.
· Observe at all times strict commitment to HI Security & Safety regulations as per procedures in place at mission level.
· Support in internal information dissemination to relevant focal people at mission level aiming at reinforcing security and safety of HI staff and assets.
4. Ethics
· Maintain professional conduct at all times.
· Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty.
· Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or others.
· Among others, he/she respects the patient’s privacy and confidentiality (he/she only shares medical information with medical staff/people directly involved in the patient’s care)
5. Any other duty at the service of the project and the organization, as requested by the project and guided by the Rehabilitation Project Manager.

Professional skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (rehabilitation, public health, management, or related).
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising field teams in humanitarian or development settings.
- Proven experience in field supervision, planning, and organizing field workflows.
- Experience in training, capacity building, and supporting professional development of teams.
- Knowledge of HI’s targeting approach, security protocols, and referral tracking systems is an asset.
- Experience in data collection, MEAL, and reporting.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with partners, CBAs, and support services.
- Ability to manage distributions, documentation, and procurement in line with project needs.
- Capacity to adapt activities in response to emergency contexts.
- Strong organizational skills and Time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good level of English language,
