Psycho-Social Worker
THE ORGANIZATION:

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The psychological worker will be in charge to provide PSS Awareness raising activities at the community outreach and could support Open Group Discussions and Psychological First Aid (PFA).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibility 1: Provide mental health and psychosocial care and follow up to beneficiaries
- Identify, through outreach, register and analyze beneficiaries’ psychosocial needs (disabilities and vulnerabilities) in close relation with the beneficiaries and their caregivers.
- Identify all protection risks at individuals and familial level Refer all cases requiring specialized mental health care and/or complementary individual psychosocial support to the appropriate service(s), including the psychologist, in coordination with the MHPSS TO.
- Ensure relevant follow-up interventions and documentation is completed.
- Conduct awareness-raising group and integrated sessions on MHPSS topics at the community level.
Responsibility 2: In collaboration with the physiotherapist ad Occupational therapists, support in organizing (structured/formal) group sessions and when needed
- In collaboration with the team, identify the beneficiaries and the families/caregivers who could benefit from group support sessions under the supervision of the Technical Officer.
- According to the needs identified and the internal referral received, organise the different group sessions according to the integrated approach.
- With the support and advices of the MHPSS TO, define the objectives of the group sessions and the relevant participants.
Responsibility 3: Report data on group activities, follow-up on individual / family cases and organize the daily and weekly activities
- Conduct case discussions with the E-CORE team after getting written consent from the BNF.
- Ensure a daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools and system in place
- Organization of the weekly plan within the multidisciplinary team, with the support of project supervisor
- Contribute to the production of case study, collect testimonies to provide evidence of intervention and input in reporting to the TO
- Any other reports to be made upon line or functional manager request
Responsibility 4: Demonstrate an ethical and professional practice to increase care quality:
- Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners.
- Participate in biweekly technical supervision and capacity building sessions.
- Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions, capacity building activities.
- Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty
- Address needs and requests in a professional way.
- Adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc) as they unfold
- Participate in educating other organizations and institutions on inclusion of persons with disability
- Maintain a positive image of Humanity and Inclusion at all times and in all circumstances.
- Address needs and requests in a professional way.
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.
- Interact with children with the presence or/and permission of their parents or caregivers
- Respect beneficiary confidentiality. And always respect a refusal of treatment.

Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the line manager that is within the post-holder’s expertise and experience.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in social work, psychology, or any other related field along with 2-3 years of practical experience in mental health and psychosocial support
- Experience in facilitating group sessions
- Experience in developing and implementing psychosocial intervention action plans
- Certificates showing continuous professional development in the technical area of the position preferred
- Experience in the context of crisis intervention and emergency settings
- Knowledge of user-centered approach and center-based rehabilitation
- Good understanding of community-based approaches
- Good listening and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of the principles of referrals mechanisms and pathways
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
- Ability to work with partners (local and international actors)
- Ability to work under and cope with pressure and stressful environments
- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting
