Key Responsibilities:
- Water Trucking Supervision & Quality Control (Core Responsibility)
- Monitor and supervise the daily operations of water trucking from the source to end-users, ensuring adherence to safety, quantity, and quality standards.
- Conduct routine water quality tests in the field and/or PEF Lab (e.g., TDS, chlorine residual, pH, turbidity), and document results systematically.
- Report any anomalies in water quality and coordinate with suppliers and technical teams for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quantity delivered, using waybills and monitoring forms signed by relevant parties.
- Support the implementation of the Water Safety Plan within targeted communities.
- Field Distribution Activities
- Participate in the distribution of hygiene kits or non-food items (NFIs) and ensure compliance with PEF’s SOPs and humanitarian standards.
- Coordinate with local committees and beneficiaries to ensure transparency, fairness, and proper record-keeping during distributions.
- Community Engagement & WASH Promotion
- Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), home visits, and awareness sessions on safe water practices and hygiene behavior.
- Facilitate training sessions and simulations (open days) in coordination with the protection, MEAL, and WASH teams.
- Supervise the activities of community mobilizers and support their technical capacity in delivering hygiene promotion activities.
- Reporting & Data Collection
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including technical and narrative updates, incidents in the field, and recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in baseline and post-intervention surveys (e.g., KAP) and maintain field data collection accuracy using approved tools.
- Provide input to project monitoring frameworks in coordination with the MEAL and Program teams.
- Coordination & Representation
- Build effective communication with local committees, community leaders, municipalities, and beneficiaries.
- Represent PEF in the field in alignment with its values and humanitarian principles, respecting local culture and sensitivities.
Quality Assurance & Program Support (25%)
- Coordinate closely with the Project Coordinator and other staff to ensure activities meet quality benchmarks and donor expectations.
- Provide feedback and recommendations on the improvement of field procedures and technical protocols.
- Participate in site visits, compliance checks, and documentation audits in collaboration with the MEAL team.
Other Duties (5%)
- Fulfill any other related responsibilities requested by the WASH Officer.
Flexibility to work on weekends or public holidays in emergencies (compensated with time-off in lieu)

A diploma degree or equivalent

Specialization required
- Environmental Science, Public Health, Community Development, Social Work, or other WASH-related and community-focused disciplines..
Practical experiences
- Minimum one year's experience in WASH-related fieldwork, particularly in water trucking and quality control.
- Minimum of two years of practical experience in community engagement, reporting, data collection, and entry
- Work experience in the humanitarian field with direct contact with local communities
- Language Requirement: Good in English (written and oral).
- Familiarity with water quality testing equipment and methodologies.
- Strong reporting and data collection skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Duty station/work location
PEF offices in Khan Younes and the Project fields in the South Gaza Strip
