  1. Background:

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a UK-registered charity dedicated to delivering health and medical care to Palestinian communities affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. Alongside emergency medical support, MAP is committed to building the long-term capacity of the Palestinian healthcare system through targeted training and professional development.

As part of MAP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the mental health system in Palestine, and in collaboration with UNRWA, MAP is seeking to hire a qualified trainer to deliver a 3-day training course in Arabic on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for mental health staff working in UNRWA health clinics and other providers from other organizations.

  1. Objectives:

MAP is seeking a trainer to prepare and deliver a 3-day Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training course in Arabic for mental health professionals. The training should cover core CBT principles and techniques, with a strong emphasis on hands-on skills, practical tools, and culturally relevant case studies tailored to the Palestinian context.

  1. Scope of work:
  • Prepare Arabic-language training materials covering CBT theory, case-based application, and clinical tools.
  • Submit a detailed training agenda aligned with CBT principles and adapted to the Palestinian context.
  • Deliver 3 consecutive days of interactive, participatory training using adult learning methods.
  • Include practical activities such as role-plays, case discussions, and structured feedback to reinforce learning and encourage reflection.
  • Develop and administer pre- and post-training assessments (10–15 questions) to evaluate participant knowledge, understanding of CBT concepts, and confidence in application.
  • Submit training materials, knowledge tests and agenda to MAP for approval before the start of training.
  • Submit a final training report including a summary of sessions, assessment results, participant feedback, and recommendations within one week of the training’s conclusion.
  • Complete MAP’s safeguarding online training via kayaconnect.org and submit the certificate.

Job Requirements

        4. Qualifications:

  • A degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or Psychiatry with formal and recognized CBT certification/training.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience delivering CBT or CBT-based training.
  • Experience working with mental health professionals in humanitarian settings.
  • Fluent in Arabic with good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
