Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. MAP is seeking a Rehabilitation Supervisor to oversee and support physiotherapy services across MAP-supported Ministry of Health (MoH) rehabilitation facilities in the Gaza Strip. The role involves supervising MoH physiotherapists to ensure adherence to professional standards and best practices, while also providing on-the-job training and technical support to enhance service quality and patient outcomes. The Rehabilitation Supervisor will lead the design and implementation of tailored capacity-building programs and training plans, monitor staff performance, and promote continuous professional development. In collaboration with occupational therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals, the Supervisor will contribute to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation services that enhance mobility and independence for individuals with disabilities. The position also ensures proper management of patient records, facilitates appropriate use of assistive devices, and upholds high standards in data protection and interdepartmental coordination.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Physical Therapy and possesses a valid license or certification to practice in Gaza. They bring strong literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills, complemented by critical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities demonstrated through relevant experience. The candidate should have extensive experience in physiotherapy and rehabilitation in a supervisory capacity, preferably within emergency contexts, along with a solid track record in capacity building, staff training, and mentoring. Knowledge of multidisciplinary rehabilitation approaches, evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, and the use of assistive devices is essential. They should also be familiar with the rights of people with disabilities, relevant legal frameworks, and international humanitarian standards, including the Sphere and Core Humanitarian Standards. Strong organisational, supervisory, and documentation skills are critical, as well as fluency in both English and Arabic. The role requires excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a willingness to travel across Gaza. The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to MAP’s values, safeguarding principles, diversity and inclusion, and upholding the rights and dignity of marginalized communities.
