Job Purpose and Organizational Context

The FAO Coordination Office for the West Bank and Gaza Strip Programme implements the Country Programming Framework for Palestine to enhance the wellbeing of Palestinian people by making the agrifood system more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable in alignment with national policies and strategies and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSCDF).
Under the overall supervision of the FAO WBGS Head of Office, the general supervision of the Operations Officer and direct supervision of the Human Resources Assistant, the Human Resources and Travel Support is responsible for coordinating and executing administrative tasks related to the hiring of national and international affiliate workforce, in accordance with FAO rules and regulations.
Functions / Key Results Expected
- Support the overall hiring plan for hiring of national and international affiliate workforce.
- Assist in developing and/or reviewing Terms of Reference of affiliate workforce and ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
- Coordinate and manage the publication of calls to attract candidates for vacancies related to national and international affiliate workforce, ensuring proper dissemination to attract qualified talent.
- Organize and facilitate the selection process, including coordinating interviews with the selection panel and preparing reports on evaluated candidates.
- Contribute to the management of the complete cycle of contracts for national and international affiliate workforce in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS), ensuring the collection and verification of required documentation.
- Assist in monitoring the validity of contracts for national and international affiliate workforce in and take appropriate measures in coordination with supervisors for renewal or termination as necessary.
- Provide administrative support, including recording worked hours for the payment of fees to national and international consultants and other related tasks.
- Collaborate in implementing actions to promote a respectful and harmonious work environment, aligned with the organization's values and commitments.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and best practices within the office, promoting collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Assist in the performance evaluation process of national and international personnel, providing logistical and administrative support for the preparation and recording of their performance evaluation reports (QAR).
- Provide support to staff members/Consultants and their dependents in obtaining the necessary visas/entry permits in accordance with requirements of the United Nations and national government;
- Facilitate and prepare travel authorizations in GRMS, process travel expense claims, and respond to inquiries related to travel procedures and entitlements.
- Perform other tasks as required.

Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma, University degree in Business Administration would be desirable
Experiance:
- A minimum of two years of relevant administrative experience.
- Work experience with UN agencies is desirable.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in both Arabic and English languages
NOTE: ''Fluency'' equals a rating of ''proficient'' in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand).
Other:
- Initiative, good judgment, ability to work under pressure, writes clearly and meets deadlines.
- Courtesy, discretion and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems.
