Médecins du Monde (MdM) France is an international medical organization, which has been present in the Palestinian territory since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank (WB) through offices located in Jerusalem, Bir Zeit, and Nablus.
MdM is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Psychologist based in Nablus.

MAIN OBJECTIVE
Assist in the implementation of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities for MdM France in Nablus, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services across various levels in accordance with established requirements.
Tasks and responsibilities
Main responsibilities and activities of MdM Psychologist can imply modification according to the context, the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.
General Responsibilities:
- Implement MHPSS activities internally within MdM medical and non-medical projects or externally with MdM France partners in Nablus.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of awareness-raising sessions on mental health, ensuring they are aligned with the identified needs of the population and responsive to the volatile and changing context.
- Implement capacity-building activities for specialized and non-specialized health service providers in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) through targeted training sessions. This includes participating in the preparation for training by defining training needs, topics, and agendas, as well as organizing attendance sheets, pre- and post-tests, and promotional materials, ensuring delivery aligns with the established work plan.
- Provide a monthly, quarterly, or annual report of activities in due time.
- Contribute to the MHPSS data analysis in collaboration with the MHPSS Manager.
- Contribute through the successful histories to the capitalization of the MHPSS activities in collaboration with the MHPSS Manager.
- Collaborate and actively participate in any field surveys, data collection, and/or needs assessments organized by MDM-F, focusing on health, MHPSS, disaster preparedness, and the response capacity of healthcare professionals.
- Participate in specific and relevant meetings as delegated by the MHPSS Manager.
Specific Responsibilities in the project.
- Enhance the capacity of local partners and community-based organizations through CFRS and School Counsellors training.
- Provide follow-up and support to the CFRS and School Counsellors in accordance with any questions or situations that may arise.
- Update the existing contingency plans for the PHCCs to include the MHPSS component, ensuring preparedness to respond to potential emergencies.
- Provide structured technical support on mental health topics related to children and adolescents, considering potential school-related issues, to assist school counselors.
- Provide structured information on referral pathways and networking for MHPSS, Protection, GBV cases and other relevant multisectoral referrals.
- Work collaboratively with the social workers to enhance the information related to the established target population and provide mutual support during the implementation of the project.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Education:
- Mandatory: Psychologist -BA degree.
- Desirable: Higher Certification (Master’s Degree).
- Mandatory: Valid professional license certificate to practice issued by MoH.
Experience:
- Mandatory: Minimum 2-year professional experience providing psychological care individually and to different population groups: adults, children, and adolescents.
- Mandatory: Minimum 2-year demonstrated experience in engaging and working with adolescents and youth, showcasing an understanding of their unique needs, challenges, and perspectives.
- Mandatory: Minimum 1-year professional experience in delivering psychoeducation and awareness raising activities
- Mandatory: Minimum 1-year experience in the provision of training and clinical supervision of specialized and non-specialized MHPSS professionals.
- Mandatory: Minimum 1-year experience and knowledge of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities within the humanitarian sector.
Languages:
- Mandatory: Strong command of English and Arabic (written and spoken).
Technical Skills:
- Mandatory: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Mandatory: Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Desirable: Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Desirable: Considerable knowledge of mhGAP Guidelines, DSM 5 and other international MHPSS guidelines resources
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to the project sites within the West Bank as required
