Pharmacy Technician
MdM is a medical humanitarian NGO. Since 1980, MdM has worked independently around the world to guarantee universal and sustainable access to healthcare.
In Palestine, the objectives of the programs are to limit the medical impact of the restrictions in accessing medical care on the Palestinian population, to improve mental health and psychosocial care and to bear witness to the violations of the right to health.
Position: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Gaza (open to Gaza City residents only)
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Under Direct Supervision of Medical Manager and Indirect supervision and support of Pharma officer the Pharmacy technician will ensure the proper receipt, storage, distribution, and documentation of medical and pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with Médecins du Monde (MdM) good practice, protocols and national regulations.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Ensure effective pharmaceutical stock management through accurate inventory control, documentation, and reporting.
- Maintain optimal storage conditions for all medical items, including cold chain products.
- Support the pharmacy team in preparing, and distributing medications to health facilities or departments.
- Ensure compliance with MdM good practice, national regulations, and international standards for pharmaceutical logistics.
- Contribute to training and capacity building of local staff involved in pharmacy and storekeeping activities.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Stock Management
- Comply to pharmaceutical stock management practices and ensure proper use of tools (e.g., Excel).
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments; verify against delivery documents.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and batch numbers; apply FEFO principles.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Identify needs, plan orders, and anticipate shortages or overstock situations.
Dispensing and Distribution
- Prepare and dispatch internal orders with proper documentation and packaging.
- Assist in medication preparation and labelling under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of distributions and returns.
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of supplies to health facilities.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Implement and monitor waste management protocols.
- Ensure adherence to MdM and national SOPs for pharmaceutical handling.
- Report malfunctions in pharmacy operations, infrastructure, or equipment.
- Draft professional reports and contribute to documentation for traceability and audits.
Training and Support
- Assisting in preparing and organizing training sessions for MdM staff.
- Provide technical support to partner organizations.
- Distribute updated tools, guidelines, and protocols to relevant teams.
Other Duties
- Collect and analyse data on pharmaceutical consumption and stock movements.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor. .
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all documents, communications, and operational matters.
- Be available to respond to emergencies and flexible .

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Education:
- Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and valid National license of practice
- Desirable: Relative Post graduate degree will be an asset
Experience:
- Mandatory: Minimum of [2] years of experience in pharmacy management.
- Desirable: I/NGO experience in similar positions.
- Desirable: relative training in (Stock management, supply chain, dispensing and distribution, clinical pharmacy, Monitoring and Reporting, Data collection and analysis) will be an asset
Languages:
- Desirable: Strong communication skills in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
Computer Skills:
- Desirable: Proficiency in MS office suit. Proficiency in Advanced data collection and analysis Applications will be an asset.
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
- Capacity to train, supervise, and support local staff and partners.
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
