Malteser International is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. For over 60 years we provide relief and recovery for people during and following conflicts and disasters around the world. In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. Since 2024 MI is supporting the affected population in Gaza through our local partner in food assistance and in the health sector.

To support the establishment of a medical point in Gaza city, Malteser International is looking for a qualified Pharmacist.

As a Pharmacist, you will be part of a dedicated team launching a new primary healthcare center in Gaza. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-need area while contributing to life-saving health services under Malteser International’s humanitarian mission.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage pharmacy operations using standard practices including FIFO (First-In, First-Out), bin cards, stock registers, and cleanliness protocols
  • Track stock levels by monitoring expiration dates, over/under-utilized items, and submitting timely replenishment requests
  • Dispense medications accurately to patients and departments, maintaining proper documentation through distribution registers
  • Prepare and submit regular consumption reports and flag potential stockouts or irregularities to the supervisor
  • Ensure medication safety, including identifying drug incompatibilities or damage and reporting issues promptly
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth service integration and support clinic operations as needed
  • Adhere to administrative policies, humanitarian principles, and ensure that all pharmacy services are provided free of charge

Job Requirements
  • Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Institute graduate
  • Valid license from the Ministry of Health
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of inventory systems (FIFO, stock cards, reordering, expiry tracking)
  • Skilled in safe, accurate medication dispensing and record-keeping
  • Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken); English is an asset

  • Duration of contract: until 31.12.2025 (with possibility of extension upon further project funding) 
  • Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
