Gynecologist and Obstetrician

In the Middle East Region, Malteser International (MI) is operating in the context of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2012 implementing emergency relief measures in Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon and since 2014 in Iraq. Since 2024 MI is supporting the affected population in Gaza through our local Partner in food assistance and in the health sector.

To support the establishment of a medical point in Gaza city, Malteser International is looking for a qualified Gynecologist and Obstetrician.

As a Gynecologist and Obstetrician, you will be part of a dedicated team launching a new primary healthcare center in Gaza. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-need area while contributing to life-saving health services under Malteser International’s humanitarian mission.

• Provide high-quality gynecological and obstetric care, including consultations, physical exams, diagnosis, treatment, and appropriate referrals
• Manage a wide range of women's health issues, such as menstrual disorders, antenatal/postnatal care, infertility, menopause, and emergency obstetric conditions
• Manage emergency obstetric cases and refer complicated cases to higher-level healthcare facilities
• Conduct minor procedures like IUD insertion/removal and cervical biopsies, and manage urgent maternal health cases in coordination with referral facilities
• Collaborate closely with nurses, midwives, and other health professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated care for women
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and report patient data and diagnostic trends in line with clinic protocols
• Participate in clinic operations, including training, inventory management, administrative support, and adherence to ethical and humanitarian standards

• Degree in Medicine and General Surgery (MBBS) with specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Valid medical license from the Ministry of Health
• Minimum 5 years of experience in gynecology
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in antenatal/postnatal care, emergency obstetrics, and minor procedures
• Familiarity with WHO maternal health guidelines
• Proficient in Arabic and English (written and verbal)

• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Duty Station: Gaza City
• Duration of contract: until 31.12.2025 (with possibility of extension upon further project funding) 
• Salary: Based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with MI’s salary scale
