Health & Nutrition Officer
Primary duty station: Jenin office, with expected travel to the other offices (Hebron & Ramallah) as required
For a period of 12 months with possibility of extension
General Objective:
The overall responsibility of the Health and Nutrition Officer will focus on implementing and monitoring ACF’s nutrition projects as part of the emergency response in the West Bank. The position holder will support activity execution, beneficiary follow-up, and reporting, while contributing to needs assessments, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring culturally appropriate, ethical service delivery. The role also includes documenting lessons learned, promoting good practices, and strengthening the impact of training and awareness raising activities, as well as groups and individual sessions ensuring that the impact of team activities is met considering the cultural context for the most vulnerable communities.
Key Activities:
Objective 1: Coordination and communication
Tasks:
- Maintain regular communication with relevant stakeholders with external actors (local authorities, community leaders, other NGOs, volunteers, subcontractors, etc.).
- Inform ACF Management about the positions of different actors in the field, they response capacities etc. to anticipate joint opportunities of joint response and to avoid duplication
- Maintain regular information flow to partners and stakeholders.
Objective 2: Programmes’ management
Tasks:
- Prepare activity plans for each activity in coordination with management
- Prepare supporting documents and the material needed for the distribution and produce field reports when possible
- Support the selection of geographical areas/IDP centres and target groups.
- Conduct regular field visits to the project sites, ensure spot check of the activities conducted, and provide the needed technical support.
- Propose solutions and improvements relating to project activities and how to improve distributions
- Help conducting any M&E activity as required and document all activities led (pictures etc.)
- Prepare regular Field and Activity reports, to inform progress, challenges and achievements for activities implemented.
- Support in conducting other tasks as requested by direct supervisor or ACF management team.
Objective 3: Technical support and supervision
Tasks:
- Monitor performance and accountability work to ensure programmes can demonstrate results and base future plans on evidence of positive outcomes at community level.
- Lead nutrition screening and coordinate the integration of IYCF-E in identified health facilities, collect and analyse data and build a response plan together with the relevant team.
- Contribute to the establishing a monitoring and evaluation system for the nutrition projects, in collaboration with the MEAL & IM department.

- Familiarity with the local context, stakeholders, and dynamics in the West Bank.
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition/dietetics, nursing, public health, social work, community development, or similar
- Proficiency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in health, nutrition or community programming.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with a minimum of 3 years of directly proven experience in NGO sector.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, strong planning and observation skills.
- Knowledge in humanitarian/emergency and/or development programming is a plus.

- Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.
- Valid Driving License.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
ILS 75,031 to 86,011 gross/ year divided in 12 payments and based on experience. In addition, Action Against Hunger covers food and transportation allowances for a fully worked month.
