STEAM Teacher (Grades 1–4)
Position: STEAM Teacher (Grades 1–4)
Location: Pioneers Baccalaureate School
Start Date: August 1, 20205
Part-time or Full-time, depending on availability
We are seeking an energetic and creative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) teacher with a strong science background to join our lower school team. This role is designed for someone who enjoys collaboration, hands-on learning, and working with young students. The teacher will plan and co-teach with our Art Teacher and should be comfortable designing and leading experiments and interactive projects for students in Grades 1 through 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging STEAM lessons with a strong science focus.
- Collaborate closely with the Art teacher, as well as classroom teachers, to design cross-disciplinary, age-appropriate projects.
- Build on students' foundational knowledge using interactive lessons and guided experimentation.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and teamwork.
- Ensure safety and supervision during hands-on projects and experiments.
- Embed key scientific vocabulary and conceptual thinking into all lessons.
- Use English exclusively during instruction (Strong spoken and written English is essential!).
- Modify and differentiate instruction to ensure accessibility for all learners.
- Foster students’ problem-solving, inquiry, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:
- Background in science, education, or a related field (science degree preferred).
- Experience working with children ages 6–10, ideally in a classroom or camp setting.
- Strong English communication skills (fluent). Instruction is in English.
- Passion for student-centered learning and making science exciting and meaningful.
- Experience designing simple, safe, and educational science or engineering activities.

- How the activity supports STEAM goals
- How you would make the activity accessible to all students
