About the Role:
MAP is looking for a Safety & Security Officer to support the safety of its staff, visitors, operations, and medical missions in the West Bank. The officer will be responsible for implementing and updating security protocols, conducting regular risk assessments, and monitoring the evolving security situation to inform safe planning of field activities and staff movements. The role includes supporting emergency preparedness, ensuring the security of MAP offices, mobile clinics, warehouses and assets, and coordinating logistics and safety measures for international medical missions. The officer will also maintain contact with local authorities, support preparation of specific security plans, deliver security briefings, and provide clear, timely advice to staff and management to ensure that operations are carried out safely and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by effective communication and relevant qualifications. A degree in a related field and a solid understanding of humanitarian and international development are essential. The candidate should have a minimum of three years' experience in safety, security, or logistics roles, particularly in complex or high-risk environments. Familiarity with West Bank roads and alternate routes, as well as previous field and route assessment experience, is highly desirable. Experience working with international NGOs in humanitarian contexts is a plus. The candidate must have strong knowledge of safety and security protocols, including the ability to conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Arabic, along with a valid driving license, are required. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, safeguarding, and the core values of MAP, and be flexible to respond to emergencies or urgent field situations as they arise, and travel across the West Bank.
