Job Summary:
PARC is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and qualified WASH Field Assistant to oversee and supervise WASH infrastructure activities in the Gaza Strip. The WASH Field Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day implementation of WASH activities in the field, including water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion. The role involves working directly with communities, conducting field visits, and assisting in monitoring and reporting on project progress.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily field visits to monitor the progress and quality of WASH infrastructure work.
- Provide on-site technical support to contractors and workers, ensuring alignment with project plans and safety protocols.
- Ensure that all WASH activities adhere to the approved technical specifications, health and safety standards, and environmental considerations, and contribute in WASH materials and supplies distribution if needed.
- Use monitoring tools (e.g., checklists, forms) to record field observations and verify contractor performance.
- Report any deviations or delays immediately to the WASH Engineer.
- Liaise with community protection committees, community leaders and beneficiaries to support participatory project implementation.
Support and facilitate hygiene promotion messaging, awareness campaigns and help resolve field-level issues or complaints.
- Gather community feedback on service delivery to inform program improvements.
- Prepare and submit daily or weekly field reports, including photos and GPS coordinates when required.
- Maintain detailed field logs and records for all project activities.
- Attend internal coordination meetings, technical briefings, and relevant training sessions.
- Ensure that all field documentation is clear, complete, and compliant with Oxfam’s and ECHO’s requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
- bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related field
- Minimum 2 year of experience in humanitarian or community-based WASH projects.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with communities.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene promotion and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and in remote areas.
- Strong fieldwork experience, including monitoring of construction and hygiene promotion activities.
- Familiarity with WASH sector standards and humanitarian principles.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to changing conditions in the field.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully with diverse communities.
- Proficiency in Arabic (mandatory) and good command of English (spoken and written).
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Computer requirements: User level of Microsoft Office Excel and/or software for collecting and data analysis.
