About the Mishkal Project
Mishkal Project is dedicated to promoting Palestinian arts and culture to preserve cultural heritage. Focused on performing arts inspired by tangible and intangible Palestinian heritage, the project supports artists in theatre, circus, music, dance, and storytelling. By fostering economic resilience and professional development, Mishkal empowers artists through production grants, cultural exchange, capacity building, and showcasing opportunities.
We are seeking a skilled Social Media and Marketing Training Consultant to design and deliver specialized training to enhance the digital presence and audience engagement of artists and cultural organizations in the performing arts sector.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
To empower artists and cultural practitioners to effectively use social media and digital marketing as tools for audience engagement, artistic expression, cultural preservation, and advocacy in complex political contexts, the project social media and marketing consultant/s is expected to have the following tasks and responsibilities:
1. Design and deliver 2 tailored training sessions on content creation, outreach and audience engagement, social media strategies, and digital marketing tools, specific to artists and cultural organizations.
2. Facilitate and deliver the 2-day training, ensuring an interactive, inclusive, and context-sensitive learning environment.
3. Submit a final report summarizing the workshop structure, key outcomes, deliverables, participant engagement and feedback, and recommendations for future trainings.
Ensure Training Content Covers the Following
• Fundamentals of social media platforms and their relevance to arts promotion.
• Understanding platform algorithms and reach in restricted or monitored environments.
• The role of social media in amplifying cultural voices and narratives. .
• Creating powerful content (visuals, videos, storytelling techniques) that resonates with audiences and preserves cultural identity.
• Building and managing an effective social media presence and brand identity; including how to craft and sell messages, tell personal stories, and showcase their art effectively.
• Audience engagement strategies, using social media advertising tools for targeted outreach.
• Basics of digital marketing, including email marketing, event promotion, and collaborations.
• Provide practical skills in managing social media platforms (for example, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube).
• Introduce methods and tools to analyze social media impact and optimize campaigns.
• Provide advice on low-cost marketing techniques and approaches suitable for skilled and emerging artists, art collectives, and cultural organizations.
• Introduction to capturing images and videos of performances and artworks to enhance social media presence.
Project Timeline
• Application Submission Deadline: 30 July 2025
• Review and Selection Decision: By 7 August 2025
• Training Material and Plan Development: By late August 2025
• Training Delivery: First 2-3 weeks of September 2025
• Final Report Submission: Mid-October 2025

Key Deliverables

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Palestinian cultural heritage and the challenges faced by Palestinian artists.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills to engage diverse audiences.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is highly desirable.
