Job Description

Responsible to achieve the sales targets of the section assigned, attain new customers as well as maintain positive relationships with existing customers in line with the business plan ensure appropriate sales strategies are adopted to assist the growth and development of the company. This include:

  • Plans and forecasts sales, monitors and revises where necessary
  • Insure the sales department achieved monthly and annual sales target
  • Develops annual sales goals for the dealership as part of the annual business plan
  • Helps to complete sales with sales consultants
  • Determines personal sales goals and the methods by which those goals will be met for each sales consultant
  • Determines how vehicle sales consultants, fleet sales consultants, and others can work together
  • Conduct sales analysis by comparing sales performance with current sales goals
  • Communicates knowledge of product and promotional information to the car sales team
  • Appraises and evaluates the retail potential of vehicles by being attuned to the resale market, both in the market area and nationally
  • Adjusts budgets to allocate resources in a cost effective manner while remaining within budgetary guidelines
  • Plans and oversees the completion of sales campaigns, advertising and promotional activities to insure their cost effectiveness
  • Delegate responsibilities to the appropriate personnel, and monitors their progress to insure that work is completed within the appropriate time frames
  • Provides feedback to team members and insures their continuous growth
  • Develops a strategy to increase business in accordance with goals
  • Achieves profit objectives that have been negotiated within a specific time frame to insure a budgeting return on investment
  • Calms dissatisfied customers, resolves complaints with sensitivity and involves others when needed
  • Recruits qualified individuals for the department
  • Orients new team members (explains work hours, procedures, use of equipment) to familiarize them with work surroundings
  • Explain job expectations and procedures to insure the new members understand their respective duties
  • Coaches and develops the job-related skills of team members to support improvements in their job performance
  • Provides advice and technical assistance to team members
  • Directs team members in handling day-to-day problems and issues to enable them to operate efficiently and meet customers’ needs
  • Communicates work priorities to insure that the most urgent tasks are handled first
  • Monitors the work flow within the respective department of the dealership and minimizes disruptions by developing backup abilities of the team to compensate for illness, holidays etc.
  • Develops and follows action plan to insure department profitability
  • Plans and adjusts the workloads of department personnel to match their skills and abilities, considering the shifting priorities of the department
  • Monitors financial expenditure to insure adherence to the budget
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce costs and advises appropriate personnel for these opportunities
  • Receives customers and assists them courteously
  • Maintains good relationship with customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations
  • Stays in close touch with the dealership mother company so as to be aware of all discounts and incentives
  • Ensures that the showroom is clean and serviceable for demonstration to prospective customers
  • Works systematically to handle the administrative requirements of the position
  • Participates in planning sales campaigns, marketing initiatives and promotions to maximize sales with the market department
  • Plans and adjusts the staff’s workloads to match their skills and abilities, considering the shifting priorities of the department
  • Insures awareness of and monitors customers satisfaction
  • Communicates with customers by telephone
  • Maintains payment records by accurately posting payments on customer orders
  • Insures retail standards within own area of prime responsibility
  • Calculates cost allowances, fees, taxes and down-payments to arrive at the price of vehicle
  • Complete sales contracts that meet customer’s needs
  • Insures that the details of all vehicle transactions are accurately documented and registered
  • Collaborates with the sales department in establishing a method of insuring that all vehicle buyers/ users are introduced to the after-sales department and other key personnel
  • Evaluates team members’ performance to support remuneration, promotion and performance management decisions and provides feedback to insure their continuous growth
  • Analyses and/or reviews operational and financial data to determine whether the department is reaching budget goals
  • Insure that the department achieves budget objectives by continually examining accounts, operating controls and composite figures
  • Responsible for the vehicle delivery customer satisfaction and takes appropriate action for any necessary improvement
  • Develop and maintain a good Customer Service.
  • Build and maintain senior level client relationships and strong internal and external networks.
  • Research and understand new car models in the market place
  • Understand new competition and there financial situation in the market
  • Report and follow up on the slow movement of stock

Job Requirements
  • BA in Business Adminstration, Marketing, or any related field. Masters is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and sales management.
  • Proven record in achieving sales' target.
  • Sales experience in software services/products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
