- Project Background:
UCS is the first National Palestinian non-profit and independent union of non-governmental charitable and developmental societies that was established in Jerusalem in 1958. It strives to build an effective Palestinian civil society through advancing the Palestinian civil work in an institutionalized and democratic manner and according to good governance and accountability standards in order to contribute to national building and sustainable development. UCS aims mainly at empowering the Palestinian non-governmental organizations, developing their resources and advocating for their rights and causes. It also strives for supporting sectoral development priorities in the fields of social welfare, poverty reduction, health, education, childhood, women and youth empowerment, integration of the disabled people, elderly care, human development and demographic planning.
- Main duties and responsibilities
The Projects Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of UCS programs by overseeing, coordinating, and consolidating day-to-day operations and project activities. This position will optimize resource utilization to achieve measurable impact within set timeframes, ensuring smooth implementation and desired results. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Specific duties and responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Lead the development of detailed project work plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
- Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets, proactively addressing risks and bottlenecks.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of field activities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
- Track and analyze project indicators in collaboration with Projects Manager, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality donor reports, progress updates, and impact assessments in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with UCS and donor visibility guidelines, working closely with the Communications team.
Stakeholder Engagement & Community Liaison
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, serving as their trusted advisor on project purpose, advantages, and participation requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with local partners and beneficiaries to enhance project sustainability.
Proposal Development & Resource Mobilization
- Assist the fundraising team by conducting background research, compiling project data, identifying funding opportunities, preparing submission packages, and maintaining donor tracking systems to support proposal development processes.
- Assist in identifying funding opportunities and developing concept notes for future initiatives.
- Deliverables & Performance Metrics
- Monthly projects Work plan.
- Monthly and quarterly progress reports.
- Updated project trackers (timelines, M&E frameworks).
- Meeting minutes and action plans.
- Timely submission of donor deliverables.
- Other:
- Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the UCS that are within the incumbent’s expertise and experience.

- Professional Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in project coordination/management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong planning and resource coordination skills to achieve project goals.
- Problem-solving aptitude and proactive approach.
- Professional document drafting and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web tools.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Residency in Jerusalem.
