Job Description

The Polis Institute is seeking to hire a Logistics and Liaison Officer (LLO). All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. The LLO is expected to work within the premises of the Institute and to travel within the city to fulfill the required tasks. The LLO tasks also involve physical effort like carrying bags from shops to the Institute.

Description

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and prepare application documents for entry permits for foreign students enrolled in the academic programs. Submit or deliver applications to the Ministry of Interior.
  • Arrange and attend meetings at the Ministry of Interior regarding entry permits for foreign students, as needed.
  • Conduct regular purchases for the Institute and submit the required paperwork.
  • Liaise with service providers and printing houses to get price quotes and place orders according to the institute’s needs.
  • Purchase goods and supplies for events and support the front office with event coordination and organization.
  • Ensure the vending machine is properly configured and adequately supplied with goods.
  • Handle deliveries to and from the Institute through the Post office and other couriers, especially for books purchased from abroad.
  • Deposit cash and checks at the bank.
  • Assist the financial department in obtaining price quotes for items that require multiple quotes
  • Distribute flyers and posters around the city to promote the Institute’s courses and programs, while respecting the local laws and regulations
  • Covering the front office during the administrative officer absence.
  • The LLO is expected to coordinate with all departments to make sure their logistical and procurement needs are met in a timely manner
  • The LLO can be asked to perform other tasks in line with capacity and availability.

Job Requirements

  • At least a high school diploma. A University degree or a vocational training are a plus.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience
  • Professional proficiency in English and Hebrew. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Open to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and innovative.
  • Legally permitted to work in Israel.

Salary & Conditions

  • 30 working hours per week.
  • Up to one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation
  • The starting salary is according to the Israeli minimum wage. The starting salary can be higher for people with more than two years of professional experience in a similar position.
