Finance Manager
Job Description
Save the Children United Kingdom (SC UK) is a leading UK charity fighting for children's rights and delivering immediate and lasting improvement to children's lives worldwide. SCUK wants to hire a Finance Manager for its office in Jerusalem who will be responsible for ensuring that all finance systems are in place and functioning in a cost-effective and efficient manner, in accordance with Save the Children values and principles and within stated policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
-Plan, develop and manage financial systems to support the country programme, which ensure internal control and efficient use of resources.
-Ensure that all Financial Reporting is submitted to donors and to headquarters in an accurate and timely manner.
-Ensure an effective system of internal control and compliance with all national legal requirements.
-Maintain accurate records and files of all financial transactions, reports and supporting documentation, in accordance with audit requirements
-Liaise with the Regional Finance Manager to ensure adherence to global financial procedures and policies, and to meet global deadlines as required.
-Responsible for orienting newly hired staff and communicating to all existing staff the financial procedures and policies, and any revisions thereof.
Qualifications and Skills:
-Qualified accountant with at least 5 years work experience.
-Substantial managerial experience, including financial management, budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
-Proven experience in exercising financial responsibility, budget control and resource management.
-Strong interpersonal skills and working as part of a team.
-Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and perform to tight deadlines.
-Advanced computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, accounting systems, email and internet.
-Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Willingness and ability to travel in the OPT (Jerusalem, West Bank and Gaza) and occasional travel overseas.
-Valid driving license.
-Commitment to the values and principles of Save the Children UK.
