Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project Officer

For eight months commencing upon signature of the project contract

The Candidate will:
-Participate in the design and implementation of WASH/shelter assessments, surveys or any other project identification study in collaboration and coordination with the WASH program manager.
-Participate in the design of WASH/shelter problem statements, concept papers and projects in collaboration and coordination with the WASH program manager.
-Participate in permanent information gathering from other NGOs, institutions, local authorities and other key actors about local WASH situation.
-Implement WASH/shelter activities including: beneficiary selection, field works, trainings, tenders, community organization and other.
-Follow up implementation of WASH/shelter and road rehabilitation activities.
-Follow up local partner reports.
-Provide technical assistance to beneficiaries and counterparts.
-Participate in data collection for monitoring and evaluation of results and objectives indicators.
-Participate in the forecast and follow up of project expenses and budget related to WASH component.
-Prepare the project’s first draft report in accordance with donor requirement.
-Participate in writing of technical documents related to implementation of WASH/shelter activities (terms of reference, technical studies or surveys, tender reports, announcements, technical evaluation).

Profile of the Candidate:
-Degree in civil engineering or related field.
-Minimum 3 years experience in infrastructure programs, knowledge in humanitarian or emergency programming is a plus
-Solid knowledge in Water and Sanitation, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure and shelter design and road rehabilitation.
-Having GIS experience is a plus.
-Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of programs/ activities is a plus.
-Motivation and commitment to humanitarian work and values
-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
-Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
-Excellent knowledge in AUTO Cad, MS project, Microsoft Office application
-Valid driving licence and proven driving skills.
-Ability to travel in West Bank and stay overnight
