Transmission Operations Engineer

Role Summary:

The Transmission Operations engineer will be responsible for implementation, operation, and maintenance for Optical Transmission Networks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Optical Nodes installation, commissioning and testing as per plan and standards.
• Daily operations & maintenance, health check, error check, performance monitoring of transmission links.
• Scheduling preventive maintenance for optical transmission network elements and monitor the quality of network/maintenance services.
• Co-ordinating with the Contractors/Consultants/Suppliers and service providers.
• Be able to use all testing and measuring tools and equipment.
• Analysing and classifying Faults.
• Any related duties based on business needs.
• Will be on-call 24/7/365.

Work Experience & Qualifications::

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/telecommunication/Network engineering.
• 2-3 years experience within the same field or telecom industry. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Strong knowledge of transmission standards and technologies (PDH, SDH, Metro Ethernet, MPLS, IP/MPLS, FTTH, Fiber optics).
• Hands on experience of Cisco switches and routers (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 protocols (CCNA is a plus)
• Strong analytical skills.

• Able to work independently and in a team.

• Proficiency in Arabic and English (oral and written). Hebrew is a plus.
