Background: MA’AN is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the other branch offices are located in Gaza, and Jenin.
MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
MA’AN is applying for the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF) addressing the development of the vulnerable communities, through accountable municipal services in the Gaza Strip. As part of the preparations for the technical offer, MA’AN seeks to select the project team who will be in charge of the project implementation. In the current stage, MA’AN will use the selected resumes for supporting the technical offer. The selected applicants will be contracted once MA’AN is awarded the project’s fund.
Job Summary and key responsibilities
The trainer will be responsible for planning and implementing the capacity building activities including training and coaching on the project thematic areas (social accountability and civic participation). The main roles of the trainer will include; the development of the training modules, materials, handouts, methodology, matrix and managing the time frame. He will also be responsible for conducting and reporting on his tasks achievements.
1-At least 5 years of experience in conducting training in similar projects, particularly relevant to social and community projects
2-Senior trainer with advanced professional and/or academic qualifications in training in relevant fields with a focus on civic engagement and social accountability.
3-Previous experience in addressing issues related to management of local government units in the Gaza Strip. 4-Previous experience in building the capacity of local government units’ officials in the fields of projects designing, procurement, implementation and monitoring.
5-Strong analytical, communication, reporting and management of human resources skills, as well as solid mediating and consensus building skills.
