BASR is currently seeking to fill the following positions:
Position Title: Public Relations and Fundraising Officer
Accountable to: Director of Program Development
The Public Relations & Fundraising Officer is part of the program development team of BASR and will be responsible for:
Public Relations, fundraising and Marketing;
Interpreting and communicating BASR's policies, objectives and mission to the public;
Assisting with the development and nurturing of fundraising opportunities, the communication with partners, clients and guests.
Minimum 4 years professional experience in journalism, media relations, marketing, and/or fundraising preferably with exposure to international organisations or development cooperation.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and team working skills.
Communicating clearly and effectively (in oral and written forms in both Arabic and English) and relating well with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to write compelling stories drawn from technical project documents and field interviews.
Experience in web-based journalism and/or fundraising.
Ability to work under pressure in a conscientious and organized manner.
Ability to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders like the local community, the public and donor agencies.
Excellent Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Internet, photoshop, social media, etc.)
B.A in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, international relations or other related field, Master’s degree is preferred.
