The Department of Architecture at Birzeit University is implementing the project “The Capitalization for Re-setting Innovation and Sustainability in MED-cities CARISAMED” which is funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Med program. CARISMED promotes the uptake of results, achieved by ongoing ENI CBC MED Projects, addressing INNOMED-UP, MAIA-TAQA and SME4SMARTCITIES, and UNDERGROUND4VALUE, to enable cross-sector/border level cooperation of MPC and EUMC. To disseminate digital transformation and innovative thinking by training, an integrated Urban Policy will be developed for improving sustainability and integrating innovation into the urban settings at Mediterranean cities (Med-cities) through capitalization of already acquired conceptual and systematic approaches such as Circular Economy (CE) and Creativity; fostering synergies between MPC-EUMC and piloting collaborative innovation schemes among SMEs clusters.
Assignment Objective
Birzeit University is considering the selection of highly qualified Project Implementation Assistant responsible for the overall follow up and monitoring of all project implementation and activities under the supervision of the project manager.
Project duration: From 1/4/2022 – 30/11/2023.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Project Implementation Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Establish communications with stakeholders towards cooperation, and communication in issues related to the project. 
  • Ensure the implementation of the project work plan and report every stage to the steering committee. 
  • Support and organize the logistics for proper delivery of project activities and events.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports and any other reports requested by Birzeit University and the CARISMED project.
  • Assist in Managing and providing guidance to project manager, consultants and provide project management support to staff throughout the project lifecycle and help determine project priorities and resources, ensuring donor expectations are understood and met;
  • Lead the planning and organization of relevant project meetings and associated workshops, conferences and coordinate the preparation of supporting documents, reports, plans, analyses and presentations;
  • Prepare necessary inputs required for the interim reports and annual work plans.
  • Work closely with the Finance staff to ensure effective coordination and financial reporting in accordance with donor regulations.
  • Carry out other relevant duties as required.
  • Desk review & Uptake of ongoing capitalized Projects outcomes and expected results.
  • Data collection from each participating city to prepare a consolidated methodological framework.

متطلبات الوظيفة
Qualifications& Skills: 
  1. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in project management, social sciences, Engineering, or any related field of study. 
  2. At least 2 years-experience working with EU funded projects in similar positions or related area is required. 
  3. Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  4. Excellent communication, reporting and writing skills in Arabic and English.
