PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: -
Gaza Sky Geeks (GSG) is Gaza’s leading co-working space, tech education hub, and startup accelerator, run by Mercy Corps, a nonprofit international relief and development organization with programs in the occupied Palestinian territories since the 1980s. Mercy Corps founded GSG in partnership with Google.org in 2011. We bring together online freelancers, outsourcers, and startup founders together under one roof to share ideas, best practices, code, and build brighter futures through the power of the internet. Gaza Sky Geeks’ overarching goal is to build an internationally competitive technology ecosystem in Gaza through online freelancing, outsourcing, and startups.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will primarily support the Tech Education Stream under the performance and quality unit, in support of our overall objectives of:
Keeping an up-to-date Tech Education database.
Ensuring consistent data collection and verification.
Support and help with all related performance and quality assurance aspects related to Tech Education.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: -
Take responsibility for ensuring that data is of good quality and accessible by keeping an up-to-date database for Tech education.
Supervise the collection of quality data on time as well as ensure updating monitoring data into the activity-level online trackers as guided by the PaQ lead.
Take main responsibility for data cleaning and verification for the Tech Education stream.
Support the implementation of focus groups and debrief meetings after the completion of any Tech Education offering.
Support performance and quality unit in the development and implementation of efficient Quality assurance systems, tools, and processes that will effectively represent the tech education programs.
Play a key role in identifying key lessons learned for the Tech Education programs.
Support in donor reporting.
Support in the different MEL/Tech Education joint projects.
Help with the day-to-day workflow of the tech education stream.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Tech Education PaQ Lead
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: Tech Education team, Business Development team, other GSG team members, MEL department.

Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
University degree in ICT, Science, engineering, business, or any other related field, with a demonstrated record of interest and contemporary knowledge in his/her field.
+2 years of experience in data management , data cleaning, and verification.
Proficiency in google sheets is a MUST
Strong Analytical skills
Proficiency in the other different tools used in GSG such as (MS Office, Slack, Google products (Drive, Sheets, Docs).
Strong understanding of the social, political, and economic context of the Gaza Strip.
Excellent writing skills in both English and Arabic.
Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as required.
Ability to work in a flat, fast-paced environment with others who are passionate about supporting Gaza’s technology ecosystem
