Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Immediate Supervisor: Chief of Party, SSP
Working Hours: 40 hours per week: 8:00-16:00
AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, education organization with offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa, including in the West Bank and Gaza. AMIDEAST implements the USAID-funded School Support Program that extends through August 31, 2018. The primary goal of the program is to improve the quality of education in 50 marginalized public schools in the West Bank. Program objectives include improving the educational environment in schools, enhancing community engagement, and strengthening students’ social competencies.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be based in Ramallah, and work with other members of the Monitoring & Evaluation Team and receive general supervision, administrative guidance and day-to-day supervision from the M&E Manager. Specifically, the position is responsible for the following duties:
Working collaboratively with M&E Team to plan M&E strategy and activities;
Analyzing and interpreting program data;
Working with M&E Team to plan and implement department activities and reports;
Writing/contributing sections to quarterly and other program reports;
Conducting observations of program activities and interviews with program participants;
Serving as a liaison with Ministry of Education staff, especially for the Monitoring & Evaluation Task Force;
Managing Geo-MIS data review and quality control;
Translating from written/spoken Arabic-English and vice versa; and
Providing support to senior M&E staff and working together with other officer-level staff.
University degree (Master’s preferred) in development, education, evaluation or relevant discipline;
At least 5 years of experience in an office environment; USAID experience preferred;
At least 3 years of experience in the monitoring and evaluation of programs; data analysis and reporting;
Excellent skills in both written and spoken English and Arabic;
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and experience with SPSS (preferred);
Precise attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task; and
