Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) is an international humanitarian aid organization that assists in more than 70 countries with populations in distress, victims of natural or manmade disasters, and victims of armed conflicts, without discrimination and irrespective of religion, creed or political affiliation.
In order to create a pool of daily workers, MSF is recruiting GP that would be called on punctual basis depending on the needs and paid with daily contracts / not a full time position
- Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention. Carry out outpatient and inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment respecting MoH MSF protocols.
- Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, checking they have understood.
- Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and take care the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards.
- Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the line manager or project coordinator about any problem or complication of the patient’s illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the department, equipment or material.
- Knows and ensures all MoH/MSF medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control. Ensures professional confidentiality is respected.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe primary and acute care to patients in a Primary Health Clinic setting, working within MoH and MSF guidelines and following current, evidence based practice.
- Conduct independently, adult and paediatric outpatient consultations in a primary care setting ensuring complete assessment, treatment, safe prescribing, referral and follow up in line with MoH/MSF guidelines.
- Deliver care that is culturally sensitive and respectful of the diverse backgrounds of the patients
- Respects at all times medical confidentiality and ensures privacy
- Support in providing health education, including disease prevention, and management strategies, empowering patients, and their families to actively participate in their health care.
- Participate in health promotion activities to address public health needs and improve access to primary health care services if needed.
- Ensure contemporaneous and appropriate documentation to aide communication and patient care and meet medico legal requirements
- Accurately performs data collection and encoding and complete MSF/MOH medical documentation as required and ensure all MoHMSF forms are filled out correctly and submitted on time.
- Report any incidents, safety concerns, or security issues to the MSF Medical Supervisor/ Nurse Supervisor without delay during your shift to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Attend rostered teaching sessions to improve knowledge and skills in primary and acute care
- In collaboration with the MAM(Medical Activity Manager), contributes in providing regular medical training for the MSF team in JN and TK, according to the needs. If requested, contributes in providing training for MoH staff, for other NGOs/INGOs, community groups, according to the need, the skill level of the audience (medical, paramedical, non-medical) and the evolution of the medical strategy.
- Attend emergency response if required
- Attend MSF meetings, general and departmental, and engage with team to enhance outcomes for beneficiaries
- Commit to working within a diverse and multidisciplinary team and adapt to the unique challenges of the context.

Education Medical Doctor
- A medical degree from an accredited medical school by the MOHE or MOH.
- Registered Doctor with Palestinian Medical Association (a license to practice).
- Preferably Palestinian or Arab Board Certificates in internal medicine, preferably with experience in the ER/PHC field.
Experience Essential: Minimum 3 year experience in clinical practice (can be within medical specialty training program).
Desirable: Family Medicine specialty training or post-registration experience in Public Health , Obstetric/Gynaecology , Paediatrics, Infectious diseases, General Medicine ; training in mental health gap (MH gap) is an asset.
Previous humanitarian experience with national/international NGOs
Language Essential: ·Arabic
