Field Researchers

AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa. AMIDEAST is recruiting for short-term Field Researchers for a USAID-funded project to be based in its Ramallah, Jerusalem and Hebron offices. The selected candidates will conduct field visits and needs assessments of schools in selected districts.
 

Field Researchers

Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will provide intellectual, technical and managerial leadership to AMIDEAST’s USAID-funded project.

The essential functions of the position include:
-Visit up to 30 schools across several districts;
-Conduct basic needs assessments in the areas of school infrastructure; parent and community engagement; extracurricular activities; leadership; and teacher professional development; including interviews with stakeholders;
-Provide original handwritten notes and written summary reports, as well as photos, for each school assessed;
-Make recommendations on school selection for an upcoming program.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor`s degree in education, sociology, psychology, social work or similar social science.
-Experience conducting interviews and field visits
-Has experience with working/interacting in schools preferred.
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Works well in a team
-Fluency in Arabic and good knowledge of both written and spoken English
-Driver`s license preferred
