As the participants improve their growing/animal raising conditions, and increase their knowledge and skills, it is expected that many plots will be capable of producing a surplus that can be marketed to supplement household income; thus a marketing training component will be included.  By improving awareness of the value of urban agriculture, the program will help vulnerable families and communities identify opportunities to make the most of their limited resources.
