Description:            

Tasdeer intends to support Palestine Technopark recently established research and innovation technology park aimed at supporting the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the OPTs to step into a facilitatory role. Through Palestine Technopark, a range of production, managerial, marketing, technical or operational problems facing Palestinian businesses will be identified and connected to professors and researchers within universities who are able and willing to engage and provide solutions to resolve these problems based on research, and on a commercial and sustainable basis. The assignment aims to promote the intervention and document the process through the first 6 months of implementation.

Tasdeer and Palestine Technopark are inviting proposals from university academics in the West Bank to design and/or develop proof-of-concept prototypes. The goal is to deliver a prototype addressing the problem statement provided by a local company within 3-4 months.

About Hijazi Chocolates:

Al-Hijaz Chocolate Company, located in Anabta, specializes in chocolate production. The company is currently facing challenges such as supply delays and equipment malfunctions, which are impacting production efficiency. There is a need to improve inventory management, automation, and overall work efficiency. Additionally, the company is dealing with issues related to a lack of training and modern automation technologies. Efforts are being made to enhance the efficiency of washing and sterilization processes by implementing new systems.

Problem Statement:

  • To enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with industry standards, the following objectives have been identified for implementation within the production environment:
  • IoT-Based Power Consumption Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Implement an IoT solution to monitor and optimize power consumption across 15 critical points, including refrigerators, melting tanks, production halls, ventilation systems, and air conditioning units in the production hall.
  • IoT-Based Temperature Monitoring:
  • Establish IoT-based monitoring systems for controlled temperature environments within production halls to ensure optimal conditions are maintained.
  • Tampering and Melting Tank Temperature Monitoring:
  • Monitor the temperature within tampering and melting tanks throughout the production line to maintain consistent quality control.
  • IoT-Based Humidity Monitoring:
  • Deploy IoT devices to monitor humidity levels across 5 units within the production lines, ensuring appropriate environmental conditions are upheld.
  • IoT-Based Monitoring for Temperature and Humidity:
  • Implement IoT-based monitoring solutions for both temperature and humidity in storage areas for raw materials and final products to maintain product quality and safety.
  • ISO 22000 Compliance and Mobile Monitoring:
  • Introduce mobile IoT monitoring systems for temperature and humidity in distribution vehicles, with up to 5 units, to ensure compliance with ISO 22000 standards for food safety management.
  • Unified Management Platform:
  • Develop a single, unified management platform with the following features:
  • Mobile Support: Ensure the platform is accessible via mobile devices for real-time monitoring and management.
  • Early Alert System: Implement an early alert system to notify personnel of any anomalies or issues promptly.
  • This comprehensive monitoring and control system aims to improve overall production quality, optimize energy consumption, and ensure regulatory compliance, ultimately contributing to enhanced operational efficiency and reduced costs.

Expected Outcome:

  • A working proof of concept within a period of 3 - 4 months
  • The proof of concept should include:
  • Documentation of the design
  • A workable product
  • A mobile App / Web Access to the system

Questions must be submitted in writing; phone calls will not be accepted. Questions and requests for clarification and the responses thereto that Cowater believes may be of interest to other offerors will be circulated to all RFP recipients who have indicated an interest in bidding.

Only the written answers issued by Cowater will be considered official and carry weight in the RFP process and subsequent evaluation. Any verbal information received from employees of Cowater, or any other entity should not be considered as an official response to any questions regarding this RFP.

Offer Deadline

Offers must be received no later than 05:00 pm, Sunday (01/12/2024) (Ramallah local Time). Offers received after this date or time will be considered late and will be considered only at the discretion of Cowater.
