The organization empowers women through psychological, social, and legal support while promoting their active participation in political, economic, and social spheres, as well as in the national struggle to end the occupation.

About the Project

Project Title: support conflict - affected IDPs in Gaza to access emergency shelter combined with cash for Basic needs and MHPSS. This project will continue to support IDP households to access dignified emergency shelter and other basic needs and rebuild and their psychosocial resilience as individuals and families. The project will be implemented by HEKS/EPER in partnership with two local partners namely MAAN Development partner and Palestinian working women society for development (PWWSD).

Position Overview

PWWSD is seeking to recruit a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Trainer. The trainer will be responsible for conducting 3-day training for counselors to increase their knowledge and practical experience through dealing with traumatized persons in Gaza Strip.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive 15 hours   training covering essential MHPSS topics, including:
    • Psychological First Aid (PFA): Providing immediate emotional and psychological support.
    • Support survivors and affected from conflicts and genocide war.
    • Crisis Counseling: Techniques for handling urgent psychosocial cases.
  • Assist in case management strategies to ensure appropriate intervention and referrals.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), including direct service provision, crisis intervention, and training.
  • Extensive knowledge of gender-based violence (GBV), trauma-informed care, and psychosocial case management.
  • Experience with inter-agency coordination, referral systems, and community feedback mechanisms.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills, particularly in capacity-building programs.
  • Strong communication skills in Arabic and English.
