1. Background

The Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM), is implementing a project to provide trauma healing and psychosocial support services for children and adults in the Gaza Strip. The “Integrated Child Protection Interventions for the Most Affected Children & Caregivers in the Gaza Strip Project” aims to build local capacity, integrate psychosocial support into educational and community practices, and document the impact of these interventions through storytelling and testimonials.

2. Purpose

CMBM seeks to engage a professional film production company to document and communicate the impact of trauma healing activities. The produced film will be used for awareness, advocacy, donor reporting, and community engagement, adhering to the highest ethical standards when working with children and vulnerable populations.

3. Scope of Work

The selected company will be responsible for:

  • Developing a creative concept and script in consultation with CMBM/UNICEF.
  • Filming activities, interviews, and testimonials with beneficiaries (children, caregivers, staff, and community members).
  • Producing one short film (4-5 minutes) in Arabic with English subtitles/translation.
  • Capturing high-quality still photographs for use in reports and social media.
  • Ensuring all content is culturally sensitive, child-appropriate, and in line with CMBM’s and UNICEF’s ethical guidelines.
  • Managing all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production, including editing, sound, and graphics.
  • Incorporating feedback from CMBM/UNICEF in drafts and final versions.

4. Deliverables

  • Creative concept notes and script for approval.
  • Raw footage and high-resolution photographs and videos.
  • One short film (4-5 minutes) in required formats.
  • English translation/subtitles for the film.
  • Final edited version incorporating feedback.
  • Consent forms and documentation for all featured individuals, especially caregivers of children to be filmed.

5. Timeline

  • Submission of concept/script: 01.06.2025
  • Filming: June-October 2025
  • First draft delivery: October 2025
  • Final delivery: October 2025

6. Ethical Considerations and Child Protection

  • Obtain informed consent from all caregivers of children to be filmed, as well as adults. 
  • Ensure the privacy, dignity, and safety of all beneficiaries.
  • Adhere to CMBM’s and UNICEF’s child protection policies and ethical media guidelines.
  • Avoid any content that may put children or families at risk.

7. Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in film production, especially in humanitarian or child protection contexts.
  • Portfolio of similar work (links or files).
  • Technical capacity to produce high-definition video and professional sound.
  • Experience working in Gaza or similar contexts is an asset.
  • Ability to work in Arabic and provide English translation.
  • Ability to cover North, Gaza and South.

Have high quality equipment, including high quality ronin stabilizer.

8. Submission Requirements

Interested companies should submit:

  • Proposed team and roles (with CVs).
  • Creative approach and initial ideas.
  • Work plan and timeline.
  • Detailed budget (in local currency (ILS)).
  • Filled, stamped BOQ 
  • References from previous clients.

9. Evaluation Criteria

  • Relevant experience, portfolio, and company reputation. 
  • Creative approach and clear understanding of the assignment. 
  • Technical capacity, including team qualifications and roles (with CVs). 
  • Availability and list of all technical filming equipment and resources. 
  • Cost-effectiveness and value for money. 
  • Commitment to ethical standards, child protection, and PSEA policy. 
  • Comprehensive technical proposal with a broad work plan. 
  • Submission of a filled and stamped BOQ.
  • Preparedness and ability to mobilize appropriate equipment and qualified media crew for all required activities. 
  • Capability to ensure smooth movement of technical crews between the North and South of Gaza. 
  • Proven track record of delivering required outputs on time.
