Background

The Palestinian Circus (PC) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization, which was established in 2006 and is registered with the Palestinian Authority since February 2007. By teaching, creating, performing and programming circus arts, the Palestinian Circus strengthens the creative, social and physical potential of Palestinians, seeking to engage and support them to become constructive actors in society and raises local and international awareness about the Palestinian potential and its different challenges. 

The Palestinian Circus is seeking a skilled filmmaker to produce a documentary showcasing events related to the PC and their impact on the community. This film will highlight resilience, creativity, and social transformation through the circus arts.

Job Requirements

Objectives

The Palestinian Circus is seeking a skilled documentary filmmaker to capture activities related to a specific program, “Inhale” to create a compelling documentary (approximately 3-5 minutes, includes interviews) that narrates the experiences of the participants, the impact of this program on them, and some highlights of a show. The documentary should feature personal stories from participants and the community to inspire audiences and amplify the importance of circus arts in challenging environments.

Scope of Services

In realization of the assignment objectives and in close cooperation with the PC team, the scope of work includes:

  • Filming circus activities for 4 groups, and interviews with participants, and trainers.
  • Editing the documentary, adding subtitles (English), and ensuring high-quality audiovisual output.
  • Delivering a final version of the documentary suitable for online and offline screenings.

Deliverables

Documentary Video

A short, engaging documentary-style video (duration: 3–5 minutes) that captures the spirit of the day(s), including:

  • Scenes from the trainings in Tulkarem, Al Faraa Camp and Ramallah.
  • Interviews with trainers and students.
  • Cutaways showing interactions, training, and the environment.
  • Subtitled (English).
  • Edited and color-corrected in high quality, suitable for social media.

level of effort

The consultant is expected to accomplish the tasks associated with this assignment within the designated timeframe and for an estimated input of time assignment within the designated timeframe and based on the agreed timeline with PC.

Other terms

  • All tasks are to be prepared in close with the Support and Development Department in the PC
  • The supplier must provide a valid deduction at source certificate. If the certificate is not provided, 10% will be deducted from the total amount and submitted to income tax.
  • The “outputs” of the assignment will be considered as “deliverables” upon the approval of Support and Development Department.
