EOI # SSA-Raedat-25-001

Overview

Global Communities works at the intersection of humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and financial inclusion to save lives, advance equity, and secure strong futures. We support communities at the forefront of their own development in more than 35 countries, partnering with local leaders, governments, civil society, and the private sector to achieve a shared vision of a more just, prosperous, and equitable global community. We work with government, non-government, private sector, and community stakeholders to promote transparency, foster accountability, and access the channels they need to make their voices heard, promote change, and realize their full potential.

Pioneers-Raedat Activity under Global Communities operates at the intersection of humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and mental health initiatives to promote well-being and equity. Our commitment to enhancing the mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) landscape necessitates the development of a unified training manual for Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Psychosocial Support (PSS) in line with World Health Organization (WHO) principles. This initiative is crucial for ensuring effective, compassionate support for individuals in crisis.

The Assignment

Global Communities is seeking a short-term Individual Consultant to Develop Two Unified Training Manuals one for Psychological First Aid (PFA) and another one for Psychosocial Support (PSS) in Compliance with WHO Principles and Gender Sensitive that can be used in the West Bank and Gaza. This consultancy is implemented under the USAID-funded West Bank/Gaza Pioneers-Raedat Activity. This five-year $35M program is intended to leverage women’s potential to create ripple effects that shift gender-based power relations within the Palestinian community.

Objective
The primary objective of this consultancy is to develop unified training manuals for PFA and PSS that align with WHO guidelines, gender sensitivity, and to provide a Training of Trainers (ToT) session over five days for 25 participants from Raedat team members and partners. The manuals will be based on the fundamental action principles of PFA: look, listen, and link, providing practical guidelines for responding to individuals in distress.
