AssirkAssaghir is looking for qualified candidates for the position of “Director”.
AssirkAssaghir (a non-profit, non-governmental organization) is a social circus committed to the principles of freedom of expression, the right to play and the right to education for all children and youth. Through circus and performing arts we aim to support children and youth denied these rights by providing them with: a safe, educational space in which they can explore their creativity and learn new skills while building confidence and freely expressing themselves; and circus performances that promote fun, relaxation and laughter. We strive to achieve these goals effectively and efficiently, focusing on the safety of the child, gender equality and non-discriminatory participation in all activities.
The Director is responsible forthe successful leadership and management of the organization according to its mission and vision.The Director manages relations with the Board and the community, and is responsible for planning and management of operations, programs, human resources and finances, as well as fundraising.
The job begins as soon as possible and is based in Nablus.
-University degree in a related field
Knowledge, skills and abilities
-Knowledge of leadership and management principles, rules and regulations as they relate to Palestinian non-profit/non-governmental organizations
-Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
-Knowledge of human resources, financial and project management
-Proposal writing and fundraising experience for non-profits
-Background in the arts and culture sector preferable
-Have exceptional communication skills (written and oral) in Arabic and English
-Proficiency in the use of computers for word processing, financial management, e-mail, Internet and social media.
The Director should demonstrate adaptability, ethical behavior, ability to build and sustain relationships, excellent communication skills, creativity and innovation, focus on beneficiary needs, ability to foster teamwork, leadership, ability to make decisions, organization and planning skills, and problem solving capabilities.
-5 or more years of progressive management experience in a non-governmental organization
